Built for Brotherhood: Answering the Call to Lead, Serve, and Sacrifice - March Update
This month revealed the power of a covenant brotherhood, challenging each man to reflect on how far he is willing to go to stand by his brothers—through sacrifice, truth, and love. From powerful reflections on the bond between David and Jonathan, to shared moments of joy and fellowship during our wine tour, YMG continues to grow as a community grounded in faith. Our weekly Anchored sessions remain a source of formation and accountability, while preparations for the upcoming YMG Men’s Conference are well underway. As we journey through this season, we are reminded of the call to build one another up and remain steadfast in Christ. On behalf of the YMG team, we wish you a blessed and holy Easter season.
👥YmG North & South Session - Covenant Brotherhood🤝
📅 6th & 20th March 2026
This session cut deep. We welcome some newcomers, which is truly a blessing to see just how far YMG has come and will continue to grow. We continue to follow the story of King David. As this epic story unfolds, we discover the meaning of true brotherhood as we see the covenant made between David and Jonathan. It was not just a mere friendship. Not about convenience and shallow remarks but a deep-rooted and extraordinary bond between the two, where each was willing to give themselves fully to each other. As scripture tells us the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul (1 Samuel 18:1).
It is not often you see a brotherhood this strong. We may never reach such a high degree of faithfulness and selflessness, especially a brotherly one at best. Yet, we can learn so much from these two biblical figures and reflect it in our lives with the brothers we surround ourselves with. So often we place ourselves over others at the convenience of our own selfish desires. We like to keep to ourselves, keep ourselves at a reasonable distance, and even shy away from calling out our brothers. We are scared of offending or hurting their feelings. We value comfort over truth. We can sometimes value our own ego, “keep the peace” with short-term ease, but can create long-term disruption and distrust.
What David and Jonathan reveal to us as men is just how far one is willing to go to be committed and faithful, even when it costs them so much. Jonathan is willing to go to great lengths to stand for the truth, as David was a righteous man who desired to follow after God. This costs him, in the end, his life. How far are we willing to stick to our own brothers even when it may cost us? A covenant brother is more than just a contract, an exchange of goods; it is a sacred bond between two people.
At YMG, we strive to create a culture where brotherhood holds value and meaning. A covenant Brotherhood demands sacrifice (willingness to deny self and be of service to our brother) and a commitment to the other. A covenant brother is not about just maintaining a friendship in Christ, but to BUILD THEM UP. This is the heart of what this YMG Ministry is. It takes a level of vulnerability, humility, and honesty to call out our brothers. This short-term pain brings about a long-term gain in holiness.

🌭YMG BBQ Fundraiser💰
📅 March 28th & 29th 2026
We’ve officially kicked off our BBQ Fundraisers for our upcoming YMG Conference, which is an incredible opportunity to reach out to men, not only to share about the upcoming conference but also to connect them with the wider YMG movement. Thanks to the generosity of St. Martin De Porres Parish, we were able to host our first fundraiser of the year. It is much more than just an event, it has become a call to action—to be present and engaged within our faith community. Many of the YMG men stepped up, generously offering their time and energy to make it happen. Everyone has a part to play when it comes to these events; a little goes a long way.
It’s amazing how much of a difference it makes simply having a group of young men present and engaged. The day sparked meaningful and uplifting conversations, with many expressing how important it is for young men to step forward and be active in the community. It was truly a blessing to witness the joy, laughter, and connection shared between the YMG men and parishioners. Moments like these create the perfect space for genuine conversation, fostering a deeper sense of unity and faith-filled community.
We look forward to the many BBQ fundraisers still to come!

⚓YMG Anchored (lenten edition)✝️
We continue to journey through this Lent with our weekly meetings, all about helping each other grow closer to Christ. It is beautiful to see the devotion, the vulnerability and the camaraderie in both calling each other out and encouraging each other to break our vices and strive for virtue. These meetings are not just to meet and greet each other but are a true blessing in building each other up to the FULL.
What has been noticeable is the growth of each man, as often we have our own pitfalls and fall short of God’s glory, but by becoming vulnerable, we allow our fellow brothers to build us up. Often, we assume we’re alone in this battle, we become accustomed to either fear or pride to lead our mind and actions, but what has been truly powerful to see is by allowing these doubts, fears, vices to be brought out of the darkness into the light. Whether it’d be a word of encouragement, piece of advice, revealing a personal testimonyu or simple small gesture of kindness these are sure ways of impacting each other’s lives for the better and it is truly inspiring to see this happening through these weekly anchored meetings.
As is Easter steadily approaching, we are all determined not to allow the last few weeks to be one where efforts die out but are renewed by the strength of our brothers and Christ’s calling to walk with Him in his Passion, with hope for his resurrection. These sacrifices are not just meant to be a seens a checklist but a way of confirming our will to the will of God. Each sacrifice, whether small or large, does not go unnoticed. These are the opportunities our God has graciously permitted in order for us to grow. We either allow suffering to let us grow bitter or better. There is no resurrection without the crucifixion just as without suffering brings about no redemption.
❤️🔥YMG LEADERSHIP MEETINGS AND FORMATION🤝
The YMG Leaders continue making great progress towards our annual YMG Men’s conference in June. These continual meetings assist with formation and nourishment all aimed at building the YMG Ministry. Their dedication is always set on conforming to the will of God, using the strengths and talents bestowed upon them to keep this ministry flowing. There have been a great deal of ups and downs, which offer the opportunity for growth and perseverance, which have not been done in vain but have been moments for surrender.
From us to you, we continue to thank you for your ongoing support, whether it be the simplest of powerful prayers or attending events (YMG Conference, YMG Sessions). All of this is not possible without you. The LORD has and will continue to provide for us, and we are committed to seeing how His mission for us will unfold. Please keep us in your prayers, the members, as well as our ministry and for all the men you may know too.
⚔️FINAL WORD
March reminded us of what true brotherhood demands, not about maintaining but building up each other.
A true commitment and covenant to be made based on truth and love.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity - Proverbs 17:17
