Who am I? - YMG February Update

This month brought about an action to

👤YMG South & North Session

📅 February 6th & 20th 2026

We’re back in action! Our first YMG South & North Sessions for February focused on our identity as sons of God. Each of the upcoming talks will take on the theme of King David. Before we cut into the epic tale of King David as a warrior and king, we first must ponder on the heart of the Father, what it means to be a son of God. Our identity is often misunderstood and misguided by the lies of the enemy, the world and even our own self-perception. These talks spoke to the heart of men and reveal the heart of our gracious and Merciful Heavenly Father. King David was simple Shepherd boy, tending to the flock, the youngest son of Jesse (of 8 children). Yet despite his humble and seemingly irrelevant position, we understand the heart of the Heavenly Father. As 1 Samuel 16:7 states,

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

We as men aspire to do great things but we ought to consider first and foremost that we are beloved sons of God. Our identity is as a child of God. It is as simple yet profound as that. Don’t feed into the lies. Often we can take the positions of a slave, which the prodigal son parable reveals in it story of a gracious and loving father to both his sons. We can either associate our worth to the sins we commit, going deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of worldly desires as the prodigal son displays. Or, we see our perception of God’s love as one we ought to achieve and showoff through the works we do (the older jealous and bitter brother). In either case, regardless of where we are at or what we have achieved, before we were even conceived, God willfully created us into existence and tells us that we are BELOVED CHILDREN OF GOD.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. - John 15:16

👣Birthline Fundraiser - Charity soccer match⚽

📅 February 8th

The YMG Men took part in raising awareness and funding for Birthline Pregnancy Support - a non-for-profit organisation aimed at providing support for pregnant woman in need and whenever she needs, regardless of their situation. The event would not have been possible without a few of the YMG Members, truly being lead by God’s grace and Holy Spirit to bring about an amazing and fun event.

It was a day full of friendly competition and camaraderie amongst the fellow YMG Men and other participating teams. The men rocked their incredible exclusive bright blue and pink football kits with style. Despite being knocked out in the first round, it was an awesome time to bring about a real sense of brotherhood, with many having played for the first-time, after a long while and many seasoned veterans each playing a massive role in boosting the brotherhood’s morale.

It was definitley a day to remember and we all cannot wait for it to happening again in the future!

⚓YMG Anchored (lenten edition)✝️

📅 February 18th

Earlier this month, we entered into a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving - the start of Lent. Just as Jesus was led to the desert for forty days and forty nights we too find ourselves in a spiritual wilderness - relying solely on our Heavenly Father for sustanence. This journey is one that brings about a great deal of vulnerabilty but the oppurtunity for our sacrifice to not be in vain but for the salvation of our souls. Our ‘no’ to selfish habits, vices or ways is a ‘yes’ to what God has to offer to us in our suffering.

Anchored has developed overtime as a spiritual exercise formed on the basis of prayer, fraternity and disicipline. In this new season, many of the YMG Men have dedicated their time to taking on this lenten observance by dedicating their efforts in growing closer to Christ through Anchored. Anchored is more than just a program it is all rooted in uncovering the attachments and desires we often fail to give unto God. It is more than just maintaining but building a close brotherhood, one that is willing to hold each other accountable. With that, each week the YMG Men have put aside time to building each other up and growing closer to the LORD. The men start off with prayer, open up about how they’re travelling, which is met with vulnerability but the chance to keep each other accountable and end of with prayer. It is inspiring and uplifting to hear the encouragement, see the yearning for God, and the deep sense of trust that is emerging from these fraternity meet-ups.

❤️‍🔥YMG LEADERSHIP MEETINGS AND FORMATION🤝

The YMG Leaders have commited themselves to formation and nourishment by engaging each Wednesday to the building of YMG. Their dedication is always set on conforming to the will of God, using the strengths and talents bestowed upon them to keep this ministry flowing. Leadership is not a title but an ongoing process at surrendering to the will of the LORD which is often met with various sacrifices and challenges in which bears it fruit with the faithful men who are a part of it.

From us to you, we thank you for your ongoing support, whether it be the simplest of powerful prayers or attending events (YMG Conference, YMG Sessions). All of this is not possible without you. The LORD has and will continue to provide for us and we are committed seeing how His mission for us will unfold. Please keep us in your prayers, as well as our ministry and for all the men you may know.

⚔️FINAL WORD

February reminded us we are not slaves but beloved sons of the Father.

We strive to keep each brother strong and lead them closer to Christ.

“So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir - Galatians 4:7
