Forged in Brotherhood - YMG October Update
As the fire of 2025 continues to burn, these past two months have been a powerful reminder that when men rise together — grounded in faith, service, and fraternity — the Church is alive and moving.
🔥 FORGED CAMP 2025 — Faith. Brotherhood. Challenge.
📅 October 3rd-5th 2025
Over fifteen men gathered for our first ever YMG Forged Camp. This wasn’t just a camp, it was a spiritual forge.
Each team: The Hammer, The Anvil, and The Flame, battled through physical, mental, and spiritual challenges designed to push the body and form the soul. From sunrise prayers to fireside talks, every man was reminded that brotherhood isn’t built in comfort, it’s built in the fire.
On Saturday night, the Spirit moved powerfully as we worshiped together by the fire and shared a beautiful moment of faith and freedom with each other. Sunday’s Mass brought it all together as we prayed.
This camp set a new standard for what YMG stands for, men of prayer, discipline, and courage.
💛 Birthline Event – Serving with Heart
📅 October 12th 2025
This month, the men of YMG proudly supported the annual Birthline event, coming together to serve our community with enthusiasm and joy. Our team manned the barbecue, cooking and serving sausages throughout the day, while also hosting our first-ever YMG stall featuring merchandise, handmade rosaries, and more. It was a beautiful day of fellowship and service, with the men working tirelessly and joyfully to help raise awareness and support for Birthline’s incredible mission of assisting mothers, babies, and families in need.

✝️ YMG SESSION #2 — Fr Olek: Purity & the Battle for the Heart
📅 October 17th 2025
Our second monthly gathering took place at YMG North with a compelling and thought-provoking talk delivered by Fr. Olek Stirrat, a young priest from the Croydon Park Parish.
Fr. Olek cut straight to the heart of what it means to not only be a Catholic man but how to truly live it out. Stemming from the incredible workings of C.S Lewis the idea of Men without a Chests calls to mind one of the three characteristics of a man. The head, chest and stomach.
Often as men we strive for great intellect, to sharpen our minds (the head). We yearn and hunger to suffice our deep appetite seeking out our passion and pleasures (the stomach). Yet what is vital and often missing in our life, which holds the greatest key in living out our true manhood, is the heart (the chest). The heart of a man gives voice to reason and appetite, it encourages the need to train our emotions and moral sentiment to choose between what is good, true and beautiful and what is not.
We as men today must strive to have a heart just like Jesus. Men who take responsibility, take initiative, with integrity and are charitable to all. All this must be done with great love.
We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful. - C.S Lewis
