Answering the call - June Update

Our biggest event of the year took place this month, marking the culmination of months of prayer, planning, and dedicated preparation. The young men worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the conference a reality. Although our regular sessions and gatherings paused during this period, our leaders and members never ceased growing in prayer, brotherhood, and faith. Their commitment to serving one another and building up the ministry was evident throughout every stage of preparation, making the conference a true testament to what can be accomplished when men unite in Christ.

🐑The Shepherd’s call 𖤠

📅 June 14th 2026

Our third annual YMG Men’s Conference was a tremendous blessing from God, and what a phenomenal turnout this year, with over 125 men and 10 priests gathering for a powerful day of faith, prayer, brotherhood, and renewal. This day centred on the fundamental pillars of our Catholic faith: the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Adoration, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and the unity found in true Christian brotherhood. The atmosphere throughout the conference was filled with fraternity, encouragement, and hope, as men inspired one another to keep fighting the good fight and to continue their walk of faith with Christ.

Each year brings a deeper sense of true brotherhood, as members, both new and old, come together to make this event possible. It is incredible to witness the zeal, enthusiasm, and generosity of so many men who willingly give of their time and talents to serve one another and help build up the Church.

The feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many describing it as their favourite conference yet. One attendee, an older gentleman, shared how encouraging it was to see other older men present and how wonderful it was that the conference welcomed men of all generations to share in the experience.

There is great power in seeing young and old come together in faith. It was especially encouraging to see the many young men who attended this year's conference. We have so much to learn from the wisdom and witness of the older generation, which is why this conference is so valuable and important. Bringing together men of different ages strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and reminds us that the call to holiness is lifelong.

The conference also highlighted the importance of authentic Catholic leadership, sacrifice, and mission. Men were challenged to listen to the voice of Christ, to grow in holiness, and to embrace their role as faithful witnesses within their families, parishes, workplaces, and communities.

YMG Adelaide expresses its deepest gratitude to all the priests, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, and attendees who helped make the day possible. The Shepherd’s Call was a powerful reminder that Christ continues to seek, call, and lead His people, and that men today are still being invited to follow Him with courage, humility, and love.

Keep an eye out for next year's conference through the YMG Adelaide website and social media pages. Young men aged 18 to 35 are also warmly invited to join YMG and become part of this growing brotherhood of faith.

Schola Cantorum for Men

A message from an attendee at the YMG Men’s conference and regular parishioner at Holy Name Latin Mass Community:

Schola Cantorum for men, especially young men who would like to learn Latin Chant. We aim to sing every second Saturday at the High Mass at the Catholic Church of the Holy Name.

But even if they can't make that, they are still encouraged to come over for the schola practice which is on every Wednesday at the Meeting Room at Holy Name, from 5.45pm to 6.45pm. The practice is actually beginning from the very basics, and is suitable even for beginners.

All that's need is to Come and See.

Thanks very much.

God bless!
